From Probore to Procore

The fall season on the PGA tour is upon us and as we commence the 25/26 season it's the Procore Championship, but not as we know it.
After a quiet and frustrating season in 24/25, we yielded a 14.7% ROI, and as frustrating as that is, it's still a profit, so a reset has been nice and we go again.
144 Players head to Napa Valley, and of those players heading to Wine Country all US Ryder cup players minus Bryson are in attendance, so the usual field of players world ranked 60 and above, is now turned into a stellar cast.
The North Course at Silverado, California is a traditional course and for these guys a very short course, but it is defended by some tight tee shots and undulating tricky greens. At just over 7200 Yards this par 72 track allows all players a run at it, and the shorter hitters get a rare foray into genuinely being able to score well and not be out bombed by the big boys.
5 players this week, 30pts investment and no Ryder Cup players selected, it's full thievery in effect and we start out where we left off, with the veteran right to left hitting, sweet putting of BRANDT SNEDECKER. He returned from a really invasive and troublesome rib and abdominal injury at the back end of the 25 season, and he showed glimpses of his old form. He is overpriced this week, if not particularly fancied, and for that reason we go 1pt ew on him with Ladbrokes 8 places at 300/1.
If form and trends ever screamed a middle tier golfer then all eyes have to be on MARK HUBBARD. A brilliant player of old fashioned, traditionally courses, he struggled significantly on the greens last season. So much so that I feared for his career, but with only 1 missed cut since April and two top 5 finishes, one being a 3rd at the Wyndham in his last event, he showed massive improvement with the flat stick and he is a live chance here with his prowess off the tee. He is a tasty 66/1 this week and again 8 places with Ladbrokes we go 3pts ew on him.
Next up a blog regular, a previous winner here, and after an injury free year, CAM CHAMP is a clear and obvious chance at a big price. He hits it low and long, but mainly straight, his iron play showed huge improvement (especially his wedge game) and I think it will be a huge season for him if he can remain fit. At 90/1 he is huge, and 3pts ew again with Ladbrokes 8 places for a blog regular.
The last Ladbrokes player is our shortest selection of the week and in form to boot. MAVERICK MCNEALY was in the Ryder cup conversation for a while last season and 2025 was a great follow up year from his maiden victory year post the 2024 RSM. 7 top 10 finishes in 2025, a 23rd place finish at East Lake, and an all round game that is statistically up there with the best players in the game, this lad has no weaknesses. A Stanford graduate, he is on home soil, and the 29 year old Californian is primed for another great year. 25/1 is quite slim given the profile of his contemporaries, but he is creeping closer and closer to the top echelons in the game and we are 6pts ew on him 8 places again.
We are using an extra Bookie this year, as last season extra places and best odds with Boylesports crept up way too often. I run this without and sponsorship, it is purely best odds for best places in my algorithm, so adding them to Hills, Laddys, Paddy Power, Bet365 and Betfair seems obvious. There are 30 or 40 betting operators out there, and some will be better odds week on week, but long term playing with the big boys will get the job done so that is what is in store for 2026!
Such an example leads us into our final selection, and best pick of the week odds wise in DAVID LIPSKY. Injury and loss of form in 2025 really blighted the first 3/4s of his season, but the accurate and short hitting Californian found a real purple patch to finish the season. 3rd, 28th, 32nd, 3rd, 24th was his finish to the season and he finished 2nd in this event last year. Tracks like this don't present themselves to short hitters all the time, so it's a perfect storm as right place and right time comes to fruition on home soil, so at a whopping 150/1 with Boylesports 8 places we drool at 2pts ew on this lad.
It's gonna be an interesting week, and 2 weeks prior to the Ryder Cup at Bethpage this event event has some real star quality in it. Go well, bring on 2025/26 seasons greetings.
