A dual meaning title for a week into the unknown. The Truist Championship is the new name for the Wells Fargo which has been played at Quail Hollow since 2011. However as the PGA Championship is hosted there next week, the newly named competition heads to the Philadelphia Cricket Club Golf course (yeah I know bloody Americans). No PGA tour event has been here, no data is available, but the flyover and all known opinions on this place is that bunkering and vicious greens will provide a stern test for this signature field. Wayward tee shots are not punished here, good putting and a good short game is required and it's hard to know how the players will cope with the test. Warm, wet and not windy the oldest Country Club in the US will have this place manicured to within an inch of it's life, and the conditions will be lush, with reports of rough at just 3 inches so low-ish scores are expected perhaps in the 14-18 under region.

No Scottie this week after decimating last week's field, so Rory is strong fav a week before heading to his spiritual home at Quail, but I don't expect him to push too hard so as usual value is out there for this 72 strong field. Bentgrass Greens, par 70, 7119 yards, mid 70s temperatures and a wet Thursday await and here we go with a high class line up.

First up the mac in the title was not for the Fav, but our return to action has BOB MCINTYRE as our first and bullish pick. The original architect visited links and inland course in Scotland with this venue in mind, and strong approach, great short game and brilliant putting are all in Bob's armoury. He's inexplicably 50/1 6 places with Hills and at a time of year he starts to hot up, he could be Philadelphia's first PGA tour winner in 8 years. 4pts ew.

If there is a better price on show this season than our next pick, then I just don't know what it is. I saw SAHITH THEEGALA on the tee sheet but could not find him in the odds. He is 125s in places and on a course where being offline with the big stick won't harm him surely he should be in the top 20 in the betting. He finished 29th at the Masters and whilst his results are way off the usual standards, he is phenomenal value and Ladbrokes are paying 8 places at 80/1 3pts ew.

A pick for SI WOO KIM come with a severe health warning, but 8th at the RBC, 15th last week and a host of top 20s in the signature events of 2025 has shown him in fine fettle. He is not a good putter so I'm betraying my hunch, but he is priced accordingly and at 60s with most firms and 6 places with Hills he is yet again fine value at 4pts ew.

Last but by no means least SUNGJAE IM is another trending strongly. 5th at the Masters and 11th at Harbour Town, he is a good iron striking week away from decimating any field. He's close, he's world class and he is somehow 40/1 with Hills again 6 places. We are 5pts on a final punt totalling 32pts for the week and with 4 very strong players.

Go well and enjoy TEWT
