What's more boring TPC Deere Run or tractors?

So first up apologies to any subscribers to this blog who are yet to subscribe to my socials, as a tremendous week for my fellow thieves saw Aldrich Podgyget overcome nerves and an atrocious caddie to right the wrongs of Mexico earlier in the year. A kicker too that Thorbjornsen placed at 80s, so a 222 point profit topped up our coffers and turned this season around nicely, one more winner and it's a standard season for us! I may have to miss some weeks writing due to work and other commitments, so please subscribe to my tiktok, youtube, insta and facebook accounts that are all listed on previous blog posts, so as to not miss out.
Over to Illinois we go then and the John Deere not so classic. This absolute shit show of a competition is a glorified putting contest and anything from 20-28/1 wins and thank the lord you have me to put some interest into this shocking event. It's a short iron and putters course, and there will be a lot of chip ins, as mild winds, warm weather and short holes just scream birdies for 4 days.
With Ben Griffin rightly at the head of a affairs it means a very compressed field, but I have some great value on offer, and we've gone back to back a few times before haven't we?!
First up we have a mix of strong season form, strong course form and statistical match for this gaff, and as I mentioned on some socials yesterday DENNY MCCARTHY is incredibly strong here. The best putter on tour to my eyes, one of the best wedge players on tour and someone who can play anywhere, Denny has missed zero cuts in the 16 events he's played so far this season. 8 top 20s to date, a top 30 at the Masters a top 10 at the PGA he is just so close to going close, and in a field where a "must be" worn out Griffin is the stand out, Denny is next in line. His record here reads 7th, 6th, 6th in the last 3 years, statistically 9th in Putting and a tasty 25/1 with Paddy Power 6 places we are 7pts e/w on him.
Next up another really easy choice and we put up one of my favourites. RYO HISATSUNE is no stranger to the blog and the only thing holding him back has been his driving. It just won't matter this week though, and this lad has some iron game, some wedge game and makes lots of birdies! If I dabbled in alternative markets, most birdies for the week could be him, but unbelievably he has been undervalued by those blood suckers, who compile odds and take money off idiot favourite backers. At a whopping 70/1 this is a great week for the Japanese stud, he's massive value and we are 3pts e/w on him 8 places with Hills, I almost put up another point he's that juicy! Cmon Ryo.
If stats were a trend, (they aren't they are just a guide) then the diminutive Dane THORBJORN OLESEN would be it!! He has plied most of his career in Europe, but his presence on the PGA tour this year has seen him buck the trend of Europeans struggling for a while in the US and he has been excellent. 2 top 10s, 33rd at the PGA, his stats are in the green across all metrics. 39th on tour in approach play, 15th in putting, he has length, he makes birdies and he's arguably the most decorated player in this field with 9 career wins. I like his chances and I love his price, he's 55/1 with Hills 8 places and we go 3pts e/w on him.
Leftfield on our final selection, as stated this Par 71 at under 7300 yards holds no fear for any professional, but HAYDEN SPRINGER may have won in 2024 had he not shot 59 on the 1st round! His 12 under round just proved too much of a pressure to defend and he ended up finishing 7th, but this lad is a tremendous putter and he will come here full of beans, knowing he has taken it to pieces. He's had a solid enough season, a top 10 at the Farmers, maybe the tractor theme is a thing *jokes, but 11 cuts made from 13 events he has a chance of a play off spot and a tour card, and in an average field his odds of 150/1 with Hills 8 places is pretty tasty so we have our 2 points e/w to end on him.
30pts in total, 4 players, let's go again. TEWT
